Under this, on March 12, by the departmental flying squad and the staff of the checkpost, a large number of tax collections and outstanding taxes were carried out by campaigns in Raipur, Durg, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Kanker, Mungeli, Dhamtari, Bemetara, Mahasamund and Balod. The demand notice has been served on the address of the vehicle owners by the Regional Transport Office, Raipur. Similarly, 14 vehicles were confiscated in Durg due to OTS recovery and outstanding tax. In Ambikapur, a demand letter and notice was given for the recovery of a total of 40 vehicles. One vehicle which is included in OTS was found to be in congested condition, to which notice was given and registration cancellation certificate was produced by 03 vehicle owner. Notice issued for the car parked in the yards in Raigad. The RTO has issued a notice to the finance companies to pay the tax of Khadtri seized vehicles in the yards. The administration has become strict for the arrears of RTO tax on a large number of vehicles in the district, including those vehicles, which have been confiscated by the financiers on the basis of hypothecation for non-payment of installments and parked in their designated yards. . This vehicle is parked in the yard for a long time without depositing tax, due to which the government is losing the revenue of the tax amount. RTO Raigad inspected Sagar Yard and Rajlakshmi Yard by flying squad on 12 March 2022. In which 48 and 30 confiscated vehicles of various finance companies were parked respectively. Notice has been issued to the concerned finance company to deposit the outstanding motor vehicle tax tax on these vehicles. Along with this, they have been directed that in case of non-payment of outstanding tax, ex-parte action will be taken against them. Apart from this, 01 vehicle has been seized by the flying squad team of the Transport Department and parked in the police station. It has a tax arrear of about Rs 3 lakh 26 thousand. In Jagdalpur, vehicle number CG 17 KP 5922 was confiscated and Rs 5780 was recovered. In Kondagaon, vehicle numbers CG-17 H 1941, CG 108 AH 7400 and CG-10-D 8654, these three vehicles have been confiscated due to tax arrears in the police station. Apart from this, 1000 to 2000 rupees were recovered from 09 vehicles by challaning action. In Dantewada, Rs 6500 was recovered from 05 vehicles by challaning action. Apart from this, action was taken on unfit vehicles. In Kanker, a total of Rs 2 lakh 75 thousand 10 tax was recovered by taking action on 07 outstanding vehicles and one vehicle whose tax is due since January 2020 was confiscated and parked in the police station. Vehicle owners in Mungeli were contacted and asked to deposit the tax in 2 to 4 days. A demand notice was served by the District Transport Office, Dhamtari, by visiting the address of the vehicle owners for depositing the tax of the vehicles. Tax defaulter 119 vehicle owners in Bemetara have been informed to deposit the tax by talking over the phone. 25 thousand 480 rupees and 46 thousand 550 rupees have been recovered in Mahasamund from July 2021 to March 2022. Two vehicles CG-24R 9805 and CG-19 BJ 5719 were confiscated in Balod. It is noteworthy that one time settlement scheme is being run by the Chhattisgarh Transport Department, the last date of which is 31 March, under which the amount of penalty has been waived in the tax arrear vehicles from the year 2013 to 2018, only the amount of tax and interest is payable.
