Forest dwellers and minor forest produce collectors have got another important gift during their visit to Bastar division under the visit-meeting program of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Under this, following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the collection period of Mahua flower (dry) has now been extended from 30 April to 31 May. He had reached village Aavapalli of Bijapur forest division. During the meeting with the villagers there, the collectors told that Mahua flower has been produced in large quantity in the current year. Keeping this in mind, a demand was raised by the forest dwellers collectors to extend the collection period. Keeping in mind the interest of the forest dwellers, Chief Minister Shri Baghel had given instructions to increase the collection period of Mahua flower (drought) in the state on the spot. Immediately following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the State Minor Forest Produce Association has extended the collection period of Mahua flower till May 31. Earlier it was scheduled from April 1 to April 30. Under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, the collection of minor forest produce is going on smoothly in the state. In this context, the Managing Director, State Minor Forest Produce Federation Mr. Sanjay Shukla has directed all the Managing Directors, District Forest Produce Co-Operation Union that their Ensure smooth operation of Mahua flower (dry) purchase under your forest division. Along with this, it has also been directed that it is necessary to transfer the amount due for the purchase of Mahua flower (dry) to the bank account of the concerned collectors. In this, all the groups and committees are prohibited from buying Mahua flower from any forest produce from traders.
