Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the campaign of procurement of paddy in the state by the Chhattisgarh government has started from November 01. This campaign will run till 31 January 2023. In the last seven days, 1 lakh 10 thousand 196 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from farmers in the state on support price. Today on 7th November, 39 thousand 946 metric tonnes of paddy were purchased from the farmers. In lieu of paddy, payment of Rs 295.65 crore has been released to the farmers under the bank linking system so far. Food Department Secretary Topeshwar Verma informed that 16589 tokens were issued to the farmers selling paddy. In which 1857 tokens were issued by Tuhar Haath App. For the purchase of the coming day, 21,804 tokens have been issued for the procurement of paddy in the state and 2,269 tokens have been issued through Tuhar Hath App. Paddy procurement continues uninterrupted in the state. Officials are continuously monitoring the arrangement of paddy. No complaint has been received from anywhere regarding the purchase of paddy. Officials of the Food Department said that this year around 110 lakh metric paddy is expected to be procured. 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state for selling paddy on support price, out of which about 1.86 lakh are new farmers. 2497 procurement centers have been set up for the purchase of paddy on support price in the state.
