In the district, the police has taken major action against gamblers in Masturi area, where 8 gamblers have been arrested while conducting a raid in the fields of Pathartal Khar. Police have recovered Rs 55 thousand in cash, 1 car and 3 bikes from the spot. In the case, the police is taking action against the accused under the Gambling Prohibition Act.
According to the information, Masturi police got information from the informer that some people are gambling by investing huge amount of money in the field of Pathartal Khar of Masturi. After which the police reached the spot and laid siege, during which the gamblers, seeing the police, tried to run away but the police caught all the eight gamblers. In this case, Masturi police have registered 13 Gambling Act and Chhattisgarh Act against the gamblers. The crime is being registered and action is being taken under Section 03 (02) of the Gambling Prohibition Act 2022.
