The biggest identity of a state is by its cultural richness and not by its mineral wealth. We have worked towards saving our tradition in Chhattisgarh and showing it to the country and the world. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said this on the occasion of Karmaveer Samman ceremony organized by Jandhara group today. He said that Chhattisgarh has a wonderful cultural identity. Our traditions have been our rich cultural heritage regarding our folk music, lifestyle. Unfortunately till now Chhattisgarh was known only as a mineral rich state across the country. We have kept the cultural identity of Chhattisgarh at the centre. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh has a rich tradition and Chhattisgarh has always been a self-reliant state. Our economic life is also deeply intertwined with our cultural life. Giving the example of Bastar, the Chief Minister said that Bastar has iron mines. In the olden days, people here used to smelt high quality iron and buy silver in return. Which used to make beautiful ornaments. In this way, there has always been a prosperous business in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh also had a rich tradition regarding animal husbandry. Giving the example of Utai of Bhilai, he said that cattle market used to be held here. Not only here, cattle markets were held all over the country, but due to lack of policy regarding livestock promotion, such markets ended their existence. To develop an agricultural sector, it is most important to enrich animal husbandry. With this thought in mind, we came up with the Narva, Garva, Ghurva and Bari schemes. The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that today’s group of people is honoring the Karmaveers. Bhilai has been the land of workers. When the decision was taken to install the emblem in front of Ispat Bhawan in Bhilai, Swami Atmanand was sitting with the senior official here, Shri Khacharia ji. Shri Khacharia ji asked him what should be written under this symbol? He said that in the Indian tradition the hymn is Satyameva Jayate, then there should be Shramev Jayate for the workers and since then this beautiful sentence is written in this symbol and inspires thousands of people of Bhilai. The Chief Minister said that the beauty of Chhattisgarh lies in the mutual harmony of the people here and we are committed to maintain it. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also mentioned the poems of Shri Sampat Saral, the poet present in the meeting. He said that he listens to the poems of Sampat Saral and the satire towards the system in these poems also gives an understanding to improve the system. In this context, satire proves to be very effective. He also gave quotes from Harishankar Parsai.
