Village Industries Minister Guru Rudra Kumar today inaugurated the 10-day state level Khadi Exhibition organized by Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board at Pandri Chhattisgarh Haat Complex, Raipur. In the exhibition, various state funded and registered units registered with Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board and Khadi and Village Industries Commission are showcasing their products. In the exhibition, various types of artistic Khadi and Village Industries materials are being displayed and co-selled by Chhattisgarh’s traditional Khadi Textiles, Silk Textiles, Handloom Textiles, Belmetal, Bamboo Crafts, Banarasi, Chanderi, Bhagalpuri, Rajasthani etc. On this occasion, Minister Guru Rudra Kumar and the guests inspected the stalls installed at the exhibition site and congratulated and greeted the weavers and craftsmen. Addressing the inaugural function, Minister Guru Rudra Kumar said that through all the components of the Village Industries Department, about 4.5 lakh people have got the opportunity of livelihood in the state. Even in the odd circumstances of the Corona period, where it was difficult to leave the house for livelihood, the Village Industries Department has provided employment to the villagers at home. For this he congratulated the departmental officers. He said that all of us are moving towards making them self-reliant by providing employment to more and more villagers with teamwork. He expressed hope that the products of weavers and craftsmen will get a good response in this 10-day exhibition. The exhibition has been organized in collaboration with Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board and sponsor Khadi and Village Industries Commission. The exhibition-cum-sale fair organized by the Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board at Pandri will be open to the general public from March 22 to 31 every day from 11 am to 9 pm. 50 stalls have been set up for exhibition and sale. Stalls of different types of traditional Chhattisgarhi cuisine are also decorated for the visitors. During the ten-day event, various cultural programs will also be organized every day from 7 pm in collaboration with the Department of Culture. A fashion show will also be organized here by Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board. The entry of the general public to the exhibition will be free.
