Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhash Sarkar met Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here this evening. During his meeting with Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, Dr. Sarkar appreciated the various schemes being implemented in Chhattisgarh using innovation in the field of education including health etc. Chhattisgarh’s Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Umesh Patel was also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister, while discussing with the Union Minister of State for Education, Dr. Sarkar, said that many programs are being run in Chhattisgarh to strengthen the education system of the children. The facility of elementary education has been made available to the students in the state within their reach area. For the convenience of the students, special emphasis is being laid on the availability of necessary basic facilities like building and shelter, toilet, drinking water, lighting, electricity, furniture, library and laboratory etc. facilities for the convenience of the students. He said that keeping in view the sentiments of the people of Chhattisgarh and the global recognition of English language, we have decided to start Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School in the interest of the children of the state. Its purpose is to enable the children of Chhattisgarh to participate in world-class competitive examinations and get success. With this objective we started it with 52 Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium Schools in the state. At present there are 171 schools operating. Due to this, now there is a wave of happiness among the poor sections and the people of rural areas deprived of teaching their children in English medium school. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that in these schools, the best facilities of national level basic facilities like attractive educational complex, advanced lab, modern library, smart class room, drinking water and toilets and sports etc. have been provided. In these schools, 512 children orphaned due to corona epidemic have been given admission in English medium under Chhattisgarh Mahtari Dular Yojana. In view of the increasing demand of parents, the capacity of 40 seater in each class has been increased to 50 from the current academic session. Along with this, in the current year 2022-23, a provision has been made in the budget to open 32 Swami Atmanand Utkrisht Hindi Medium Schools at par with Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School. During discussion with Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, the Union Minister of State for Education, Dr. Sarkar, launched schemes in the field of education as well as health in Chhattisgarh. Appreciate the plan etc. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that these schemes have provided good treatment facilities to the people in the urban areas as well as in the remote areas of the state. Which is showing better results. The Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, which started from October 2, 2019 in 13 municipal corporations of the state, is now being extended to all municipalities and nagar panchayats. Similarly, to make Bastar division of the state free from malaria, anemia and malnutrition and to reduce infant and maternal mortality, 5 phases of Malaria-free Bastar Abhiyan have been completed, in which good success was achieved. After the success of Malaria-free Bastar campaign, Malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign has been started to make the entire state malaria-free. He informed that Shree Dhanwantri drug scheme is being successfully implemented in the state. In which due to the availability of cheap medicines, people have saved Rs.17 crore during three months by buying medicines from Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store.
