The poor and needy person wants that when he falls ill, he does not have to wander for his treatment. Everyone wants to avoid stopping their employment for minor ailments, taking appointments with doctors and getting treatment in line. Keeping these problems and needs of the people in mind, the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme started in Chhattisgarh is now not only fulfilling these objectives and goals, but by setting up a camp near the house in its locality, the needy people are greatly helped in the treatment. It’s convenient. With the expansion in health facilities, this step taken by the Chhattisgarh government in the direction of making the poor healthy by quick treatment, is the result of the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme has won the hearts of poor families. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Urban Administration and Development Department started the scheme from 14 municipal corporations of the state on November 1, 2020, now it is being operated in all the urban bodies of the state. So far, about 32 lakh patients have been treated. It is worth mentioning that to provide health facilities to the people living in slums of 14 municipal corporation areas of the state, the first phase of Mukhyamantri Shahari Slum Health Scheme was started on 01 November 2020. Under this, health check-up and treatment and drug distribution of people were started by going to slums by 60 mobile medical units. On 31 March 2022, it was expanded to the entire urban body areas of the state and 60 more mobile medical units were started. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel had envisaged such treatment of people living in slums at their homes. So far, more than 31 lakh people have been treated by the medical team of Mobile Medical Unit by reaching the slum settlements through Mukhyamantri Shahari Slum Health Scheme implemented with the same objective. Under the scheme, doctors, paramedical teams, 120 mobile medical units equipped with medical equipment and medicines are now providing health facilities to the people in the slums of the urban areas of the entire state. Through this scheme, so far 6 lakh 74 thousand 121 patients have been provided with the facility of pathology test and free medicines have been given to more than 26 lakh 10 thousand 277 patients. Two lakh 52 thousand 263 workers are also among the patients benefitted under the scheme. Under the Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme, run by the Urban Administration and Development Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh, so far, 169 urban bodies of the state have been set up through mobile medical units in the slums. If we see the increase in the number of camps and health benefits, lakhs of patients are getting benefited through mobile medical units every month. Under the Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme, about 32 lakh patients have been benefited in 43 thousand 70 camps. On the other hand, one lakh 23 thousand 657 patients have been treated in 1657 camps under Dai-Didi Clinic Scheme.
