As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a voter awareness program was organized by the District Election Office in the local Naveen Girls College regarding voter awareness. The program emphasized the active participation of voters in the election process. The message of strong democracy was given by cent percent voting, including adding the names of all eligible people in the voter list. Collector and District Election Officer Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh also participated in the program. In the program, he encouraged all the girl students to make people aware of voter registration process and voting under sweep activities. Quiz competition was also organized during the event in which Jiya, Brij Kumari Singh and Yasmin Naaz secured first, second and third position respectively. Collector rewarded the girl students. After this a rally was organized in the city for public awareness from the college premises. Collector Mr. Langeh flagged off the rally. In the program, the Collector said that all the eligible people should get their names added in the voter list. Along with joining online, name can also be added by visiting polling stations. Its process is very simple. He said that mere name in the voter list is not enough. It will be meaningful only if you exercise your right to vote. He said that earlier persons who had completed 18 years on January 1 could have their names added. This date in the year was considered as the base. But now 4 dates have been set. Now along with January 1, the person who has completed 18 years on 1st April, 1st July and 1st October can apply for adding name in the voter list. The student asked the journey to become an IAS, the collector said – do not back down on the difficult path, gave credit to the parents and friends, during this the collector discussed their needs with the girl students and told them to fulfill them. Meanwhile, a student questioned the collector Mr. Langeh about his journey to become an IAS, to which the collector said that his parents and friends supported him immensely in achieving his goal. He said that the road to becoming an IAS is difficult, but don’t be afraid to back down. That’s the motto. He encouraged the girl students to take active participation in sports and extra-curricular activities along with studies so that their all round development could take place. The Principal of the college, Mrs. Neelima Kachhap gave the welcome address. He highlighted the SVEEP campaign. Deputy District Election Officer and Joint Collector Mr. Anil Sidar and SDM Baikunthpur Mrs. Ankita Som were also present in the program.
