The curtain did not rise from the inauguration plaque during CM’s program, electricity officer got suspended

During the program of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the blame for the breakdown of electronic equipment fell on a senior official of the electricity department. Umadevi, Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, suspended Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Managing Director (MD) CN Sridhar after the program.

What is the matter?

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had attended an event organized by the Water Resources Department and Cauvery Neeravari Corporation at Koppa in Piriyapatna taluk of Mysuru district. A project to bring water from Kaveri river near Muthinamulusoge to fill 150 lakes of 79 villages has been inaugurated here. This project will reduce the problems related to water supply of the villagers. While inaugurating this project the curtain from the plaque was not lifted.

Suspended officer did not ensure arrangements

It is alleged that at the time of the inauguration of the project, the electronic equipment used to remove the plaque curtain was not working. In the report, District Magistrate Rajendra said that despite being informed by a letter on January 23, CESC MD Shridhar violated the protocol by not attending the Chief Minister’s program. Also Sridhar failed to ensure whether the arrangements were in place or not.
