So far 5 young entrepreneurs have signed an MoU for setting up power generation projects from cow dung in the Gauthans of the state. An investment of Rs.10-10 crore is proposed by the entrepreneurs for this in Gauthans. The cow dung purchased in Gauthans will be used on priority by the entrepreneurs for power generation. After this, the dung of the private sector dairy farm and the waste collected in the city can also be used for electricity generation. Under the chairmanship of Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, it was given in the first meeting of Godhan Nyay Mission held at Mahanadi Mantralaya Bhawan, Nava Raipur today. In the meeting, Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey directed the officers to expedite the expansion of income-oriented activities in Gauthans along with fulfilling the objectives of the Godhan Nyay Mission. Bharathidasan, Director Agriculture Shri Yashwant Kumar, Director Horticulture Shri Matheswari V. Along with other officials were present. Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that it is the intention of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel to expand income-oriented activities in Gauthans under Godhan Nyay Yojana. He said that there is a need to develop Gauthans as livelihood centers of the villagers. He instructed the officers to ensure better arrangements for marketing and sale of other products including vermi compost produced in Gauthans. He also told the officials to prepare necessary rules and instructions for the farmers to directly lift the vermicompost and super compost manure from the Gauthans. Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mr. Pradeep Sharma said that the interested young entrepreneurs were connected to the Rural Industrial Park of the Gauthans. So that rural industry is encouraged and youth can be linked with employment. He talked about making available land to young entrepreneurs for setting up industries by selecting suitable Gauthans. In the meeting, Chief Secretary, Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department under Godhan Nyay Mission, Management of Laghu Vanopaj Sangh. He said that under the Godhan Nyay Mission, a clear target should be set at the state level that how much production of which material is to be done through Gauthans, so that marketing and sales can be arranged. Bharathidasan gave detailed information about the objective and administrative set-up of the Godhan Nyay Mission and said that an annual budget of Rs 11.56 crore has been proposed to speed up the work of the mission. He said that officers and employees from other departments including agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, village industries would be given additional responsibility for monitoring and implementation of the mission. Officers-employees will be fulfilled as per rules for marketing, data management and other works. He informed that so far 10,591 Gothans have been approved in the state. Out of which 8,048 Gauthans are built and operated. 2.87 lakh rural cattle rearers are registered for selling cow dung in Gauthans, out of which 2.04 lakh are getting benefited by selling cow dung. 125.22 crore has been paid for the purchase of 62.60 lakh quintals of cow dung in Gauthans. 2549 Gauthans have become self-supporting. There are 11,477 women’s groups associated with Gauthans. The women’s groups have so far earned an income of Rs.51.53 lakh from various activities. Rs 46.44 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and Rs 30.34 crore as dividend has been paid to self-help groups. 868 processing units have been established in Gauthans. 15.30 lakh quintals of compost have been produced and 9.41 lakh quintals have been sold in the Gauthans. It was informed in the meeting that G-Map-App has been prepared for monitoring the activities of Gauthans. 4043 Gothanon is a multi-activity run, under which processed products, utility products, handicrafts, specialty and other products are being manufactured including agriculture and allied sector. In the meeting, detailed information was given about the carbon credit project, paradan and fodder production. It was informed in the meeting that instructions have been given to all the districts to set up Rural Industrial Parks. Action plan has been started for the establishment of a total of 1547 units including 152 oil mills, 173 pulse mills, 105 flour mills, 973 mini rice mills and 144 other mills in Gauthan.
