Godhan Nyay Yojana is one of the ambitious schemes of Chhattisgarh government. The objective of starting this scheme is to improve the economic condition of the cattle herders. Under this scheme, work is being done to make vermicompost from the cow dung procured by the government from cow rearing farmers. Which is being sold to Forest Department, Horticulture and Agriculture Department and farmers. Under this scheme, Gothans and pastures have been constructed in various gram panchayats with the aim of promoting livelihood in the Gothans of Dantewada district and providing financial assistance to the cow rearing farmers. This scheme is a better source of income for the villagers. Due to this, the rural economy is getting strengthened. Earthworm manure and super compost manure are being manufactured in Gauthan, which has become the center of production and sales in today’s situation. In Gauthan, the sisters of the group are making manure by purchasing cow dung. By making organic food from the available cow dung, the women’s group is earning profit by selling it. So far, 79377.29 quintals of cow dung has been purchased from this center, whose value of Rs 158.75 lakh has been provided to the cow dung seller beneficiaries. The total quantity of vermicompost fertilizer obtained from cow dung was 1808944 kg and total quantity of super compost was 718381 kg, 1424071 kg of vermicompost and 66183 kg of super compost were sold. Due to which 9493 beneficiaries were benefited. Many types of employment have been created by the purchase of cow dung in Gauthan.
