State Energy Minister Shri AK Sharma said that on the initiative of the Chief Minister, the Energy Department has given 100 percent in the delayed surcharge (interest) / surcharge till April, 2022 to all the consumers of urban and rural areas with electricity load in order to give relief to the defaulting consumers. The one-time settlement scheme was implemented on June 01, 2022, giving a percentage discount. In the interest of the consumer and in view of their enthusiasm, the period of the scheme was extended from June 30 to July 15, 2022. During this period, more than 38.30 lakh defaulting consumers of electricity have taken advantage of the scheme and got rid of their problems. The Energy Minister has congratulated the beneficiaries and officers and employees for the historic success of the OTS scheme. He said that this scheme has been the most successful among the one-time solution schemes launched by Power Corporation so far. In the schemes till date, 36,11789 subscribers have availed the benefit of OTS scheme for a period of 46 days as on March 01, 2021. Similarly, 37,61475 subscribers have benefited from the OTS scheme up to 103 days on October 21, 2021 and 38,30747 subscribers have been benefited from the one-time settlement scheme for a period of 45 days as on June 01, 2022. Which was the most successful in less time than the earlier OTS schemes. He said that this time the facility of payment in installments was also made available in the OTS scheme. In the present OTS scheme, there was a system of payment in maximum 06 installments for the defaulting consumers up to Rs. 01 lakh and for consumers above Rs. 01 lakh. The facility has been provided for payment in 12 installments.
