In Chhattisgarh, a special meeting was organized in the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Raipur regarding the welfare and rehabilitation of ex-servicemen, their families, families of martyrs. In the meeting, retired colonel rank officers and other officers of Chhattisgarh and Odisha region related to the army were also present on behalf of the ex-servicemen organizations. Various types of problems being faced by the ex-servicemen organizations were discussed in the meeting. Along with this, ex-gratia amount to the martyr families, reservation for ex-servicemen, increase in the amount given in gallantry awards and the possibilities of jobs for ex-servicemen in the state were considered. The office bearers and their representatives of 14 ex-servicemen organizations were organized and their meeting was held. The agenda of this meeting was duly prepared after consultation with all the organizations of the state. The main objective of this meeting was to deliberate, discuss and find solutions to the problems of all the ex-servicemen, military families of the state, Veer Naris, Veer Mothers, Widows and Women of World War II. The ex-servicemen were already informed about the schemes being run by the state and central government for the families of martyrs and their dependent families, including scholarships, medical facilities and financial assistance for the needy.
