Collector Mr. Taran Prakash Sinha, for the purpose of providing maximum benefits to the farmers of the district, while implementing the departmental schemes on time, instructions are being given to the agriculture department and other related departments to provide necessary guidance to the concerned beneficiaries at the ground level. Huh. So that the farmer can earn maximum profit by doing farming with advanced technology. In the same sequence, the farmers of the district are being encouraged by the Agriculture Department and the concerned officials, including Collector Mr. Sinha, to sow other crops like mustard, wheat, tivda, etc. instead of paddy in Rabi crop 2022-23. According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, a target has been set for cultivation of mustard variety RH 725 in a total of 556 acres in the district for this rabi crop. For which a target of 111 acres has been provided in each development block. Out of which 218 acres have been sown as mustard seed crop. On cultivation by advanced technology of mustard, 15 to 20 quintals in non-irrigated areas and 20 to 30 quintals per hectare grain yield in irrigated areas gives good profit. According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, October to November is the right time for sowing mustard and at the time of preparation for its cultivation, manure from well rotten cow dung at the rate of 7 to 12 tonnes per acre should be mixed well in the soil and Soil should be tested for proper use. The quantity of seed is required at the rate of 2 kg per acre and the seed is 4 to 5 cm. Must be sown deep. In Mustard, apply 40 kg Nitrogen (90 kg Urea), 12 kg Phosphorus (75 kg Single Super Phosphate) and 6 kg Potassium (10 kg Muriate of Potash) per acre. In low rainfall areas, apply all the fertilizers before sowing. For Mustard Half quantity of manure should be applied before sowing and half quantity at the time of first watering. Keep in mind that fertilizer should be used only on the basis of soil test. For mustard cultivation, plow the land two or three times with local plow or cultivator and each plowing Sprinkle the crop after irrigation. To get a good crop, three irrigations are required at an interval of three weeks after sowing. To save the moisture in the soil, use more organic fertilizers. Mustard cultivation To prevent weeds, weeding should be done 2-3 times in 15 days. If the crop is over-ripened, the possibility of cracking of pods increases. Therefore, the crop should be harvested when the plants turn yellow and the pods turn brown. After drying the crop, the grains are separated by thresher or by beating with sticks. After drying the seeds are put in sacks. Should be stored in a dry and moisture free place. Mustard can be cultivated in sandy to heavy clay soil, but sandy loam soil is most suitable. Tillage farming is a better option to increase the additional income of the farmers. The main objective of Utera farming is to use the moisture present in the fields for germination and growth of the next crop as well as to promote bi-cropped area expansion. Linseed, mustard, urad, gram, tivda, wheat etc. are sown as fallow crops. In this method of growing crops, the second crop is sown before the first crop is harvested. Through this, farmers get pulses, oilseeds and additional produce along with paddy. The fields also get nitrogen from pulse crops. Farming by this method does not harm the soil and also conserves biodiversity and environment and there is no need to burn stubble and straw from the crops by doing farming by this method. The collector asked the farmers to take the harvested crop after the Kharif crop. Appeal – Collector Mr. Taran Prakash Sinha has appealed to the farmers to sow linseed, mustard, urad, gram, tivda, wheat etc. after the kharif crop, taking advantage of the moisture in the field.
